I much prefer Jacques Vallee&#039;s view that the ufo _total_  phenomenon represents a nonhuman intelligence closely related to earth which has inter-acted with humanity for thousands of years.  The nature of this intelligence is unknown.  By its behavior it can be judged evil, jocular, beautiful, ugly, helpful, hindering.  We won&#039;t know until, as Vallee wants to do, we can take our eyes off the screen and pry the lock on &quot;the secret projectionist&#039;s booth&quot;.</description>
