Strategies of the Barbelo
"Now, certain Gnostics venerate a certain Barbelo who was emitted from the God of Truth. Some say she is the mother of Yaldabaoth; others, of Sabaoth; and her offspring keeps charge of the seventh heaven in arrogance and absolute dominion; and says to those below: "It is I who am the first and hereafter; there is no other god apart from me." But they say she heard this utterance and wept.
Moreover, she is repeatedly shown forth to the Rulers in a kind of beauty, and through pleasure and outflowing, robs the sperm from them, so that - of course - she might again recover her power that has been sown into various places."
