Vintage Octopus Pulp Covers Revisited – Tentacle sex

The origins of the tentacle rape and octopus sex themes in Japanese shunga art (and censorship laws) are well documented, but what if you (like me) are bored (or repelled) by the overt misogyny of hentai and manga?

I’ve long been a fan of Francesca Myman’s fantastic Poulpe Pulps site, an intriguing (and comprehensive) gallery presentation of one of my favorite visual themes – tentacled sea beasties wrestling with damsels in distress! The beauty of her approach is that the Octopus Pulp gallery consists entirely of vintage comic book, sci-fi novel and adventure magazine covers  – not a squealing anime schoolgirl in sight.

In tribute to Francesca’s original gallery (and also because I enjoy looking at such things) please find several dozen more never-before assembled low-brow pop culture artifacts featuring the erotic octopus and sensual squid below – enjoy!
